Tuesday's thrashings

So another day closer to St. Patrick’s Day…where everyone’s Irish. It kind of pisses off those of us who are ACTUALLY a wee bit Irish, don’t ya know?

Anyway…commentaries on things, life and whatnot coming right up, with a side of sarcasm!

First of all, I have been out of the loop on all things “South Park”. So much so, I didn’t realize Isaac Hayes was disgruntled, much less leaving the show!!! Why don’t people tell me these things? I actually enjoyed his performance in the Keenen Ivory Wayans film “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka”. He was quite hilarious, as was Jim Brown. Hell, it was TOTALLY funny! But where am I going to get chocolate salty balls now? What's your favorite bipolar redhead to do?

I finally saw Natalie Portman’s “gangsta-ette” rap video from “SNL”. Probably one of the funniest things to come out of SNL in a while, don’t ya think? And good call on the short hair, Nat…looks good!

I noticed that Black Sabbath and Blondie were among the

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees this week.

I also noticed they left out the Osmonds again.

OH well. Maybe next year.

Today, Dan Brown takes the stand to defend his authorship of The DaVinci Code.

I’d rather see Mr. Brown defend Ron Howard’s choice of leading man –

TOM HANKS???!!!

Yeah, he's the first one that comes to mind when looking for a smolderingly sexy, yet academic hero...NOTt!

I have a theory...Ron Howard had to sign a deal with the devil so he could win that Oscar for "A Beautiful Mind." Therefore, by contractual obligation he had to pick an actor that looks more and more like Bea Arthur with every passing year? What was he thinking?

If you ask me, "Opie Cunningham" (as Eddie Murphy called him) should have picked Adrien Brody...ALSO an Oscar winner (and the youngest one to date)...

Or even Gary Sinise, an Oscar nominee (with smoldering, non traditional good looks)...

Plus Opie's parents make him cast his weird looking little brother in almost everything...

Yup, I missed my calling as a casting director. But maybe it's not too late? Hollyweird, are you reading this?

In other news…my hometown’s high school boys’ basketball team made it to state championships again. I did write a letter to the editor of the hometown paper asking to PLEASE not forget about the speech, drama and music students that are also competing this month. They probably won’t print it, but it’d be nice if they did. It’s about time someone spoke up for the underdog.

Nothing else new here to be brutally honest…so I’ll shout out again when I feel there are wrongs to be righted, or at least commented on in a snotty manner.
