YEAH BABY...
The underwater thumbs-up guy is symbolic of the way I feel right now. We officially have all our CRAP moved out of our apartment in Cider Mill! WOO-HOO! I had to pay a guy to do it, but he rented the truck and brought five of his friends. We bought them pizza and cold soda, and they were so nice. It was a trilingual group...five guys from Haiti, one guy from Panama. I think I heard, "Jeez, these white people have lots of stuff" in three different languages.
His sister (a co-worker of mine on my temp job) told him not to let us lift anything heavy so that's why we had the extra people. My muscles hurt from cleaning and packing all afternoon, but I'm so happy we're out of there and have all our stuff here. YAYAYAY! And, it turns out, my dad doesn't have tests till Thursday instead of Tuesday so I'm on pins and needles but I'll have unpacking to do to occupy my mind instead.
So life is hectic, and scary, but good all the same.
In other headlines, here are a couple things I've noticed.
1. In the "Adding Insult to injury" department, the New Orleans mayor had to announce layoffs on top of all the other crap they've had to go through in the past month. That really bites the big one. Does anyone in Cyberland know if the layoffs are permanent or temporary?
2. In the "One of my favorite recurring game-show-guests" department, Nipsey Russell passed at age - gulp - 80! AAAGGGHHH! Another one of those stars that I hadn't heard about in a while and had already presumed was gone has actually gone. I actually liked him quite a bit...his poems were great. Plus, he was wonderful in "The Wiz". Much better than Michael Jackson.
3. In the "Someday he'll be feeding her Metamucil against her will" department, Demi and Ashton have married in a traditional Kabbalah ceremony. I'm sure all the hard core Amana residents that have known him since he was in utero are not pleased. They'll probably want to hold a reception with plenty of fine Iowa pork products. Pass the ham and beans, please...with extra bacon. Yum.
4. Actually, there is no number four. I just thought I'd add it to look cool.
So anyways, I'm goin' to bed...once my WOO-HOO buzz wears off.
Wired and tired, but still yours truly,
Sudiegirl
