Notable quote from Martha Stewart
"As you would expect, the loss of freedom and the lack of privacy are extremely difficult. But I am safe, fit and healthy."
-- lifestyle diva MARTHA STEWART, in a Thanksgiving message posted on her personal Web site from prison, where she is serving a five-month sentence for lying about a stock sale.
Sudiegirl's opinion?
1. Why is she stating the obvious about the loss of freedom and lack of privacy? DUH! Of course it's difficult. That's why they call it PRISON. If it was EASY for people to share a cell and pee in front of strangers, they'd find something else to punish people with and call THAT prison. She's been sniffing too much lemon oil.
2. My DAD (of all people...I'm almost ashamed to admit this) thinks she was set up. He hasn't gone so far as to send her a cupcake with a nail file in it or start a letter-writing campaign for her release (he'd get kicked out of his gun club for it, I'm sure), but he does feel badly for her. I really wonder sometimes if I'm adopted.
3. Personally, I still think the best punishment for her would be to organize my apartment. My kitchen alone looks like a demilitarized zone.
4. I'm sure you all have seen the Martha Stewart Christmas Craft e-mail w/picture by now...someone was ingenious enough to make bedroom slippers (the scuff kind) out of maxipads. Makes me proud to be a woman.
And now, I must go make a birdfeeder out of Kool-Aid packets and toothpicks.
Happy Thanksgiving, y'all...
