Things I've been noticing
The story line in the Pearls Before Swine comic strip (found in Yahoo! News - Comics section)...I sent one out today to all my e-mail pals but this is just too good not to share. The story line revolves around Toby, an agoraphobic turtle who never comes out of his shell.
What does he like?
Beer.
How does he consume it?
Through a rubber tube that is attached to a funnel on the other end, where a benevolent benefactor pours the beer and it winds its way down the tube and into his waiting turtle mouth. This, in and of itself, is a lifestyle that I covet wildly.
Today's strip was particularly amusing, as Toby the agoraphobic turtle sits at the bar with his friends, Rat and Pig. (Hope you can keep up with this...I realize the names are a bit lengthy.) Rat is explaining to Pig how the beer bong works, and Pig states, "But beer isn't the answer. Toby needs to know that beer isn't the answer."
In the next panel, Toby knocks out Pig with the funnel end of the beer bong.
In the final panel, Rat leans over Pig and says, "Toby is not in the mood for your lecture."
How did Stephen Pastis (the cartoonist) sum up my life in three panels? I'd really like to know this.
Baffled but rising above it,
Sudiegirl.
