sedate saturday sans sarcasm (OK...alliteration rules!)

Well...to my left is Borat. If you haven't seen the trailer for his little film yet, I highly suggest you do so unless you're easily offended.

I would be offended, but then I see pic's like this and I realize that if someone would actually go out to a beach in an outfit of this nature, they are one of the following:

1) They are to be pitied
2) They will do anything to make you laugh.

Oddly enough, it seems like it's the former more often than the latter, but either way, it's damned funny.

And I'm sure you don't want to know what I think about Mr. Borat's sex appeal, but under normal circumstances (i.e. without the really interesting Speedo reject he's wearing), I'd be pretty OK with his body. (See? I told you that you didn't really want to know what I thought.) I get more suspicious of a man if he doesn't have a little bit of hair, you know? I know professional swimmers and divers shave their body hair off to make them more aerodynamically sound, but it's still oogy.

However, there's a picture I received once in an e-mail of some guy that is TOTALLY hirsute...we're talkin' Bigfoot's little brother here. I felt bad for him when I saw that picture, because really, he'd have a hard time covering his fur up...plus laser treatments would be WAY expensive.

So anyway, other than waxing (if you'll pardon the pun) philosophic, not much going on in my life. I took my glorious day off yesterday, and I was full o' plans. What did I do instead? Sleep. A LOT. I'm not sure why other than caffeine withdrawl, but Doug was rather worried. I was too, but I was trying to keep a brave face on it.

Today was blood drawing day at Secure Medical Care. Yes, I finally bit the bullet and did it because I figured I need to before my Tuesday doctor appointment. (Read my entry about being a "hard stick"for more details). The phlebotomist did a REALLY good job with me, though, and it didn't hurt much at all. This time, the psych will be checking for my lithium levels, as well as thyroid, iron levels, etc. Great. Thyroid trouble and anemia tend to run in my family, so we'll see how it turns out. I'm not optimistic.

Anyways, I actually get to meet one of my DC area blogging idols tonight...she's on my blogroll as Merujo, and a "homegirl" from the same part of the Midwest as my own bad self. Her blog is really good reading, and she's had an interesting life thus far.

She's also personal friends with Thomas Dolby...a fact I'm very envious of. Now if she was friends with Joe Jackson (as in "Steppin' Out", "Breaking Us In Two" and "Cancer" fame) I'd be washing her car every weekend. BTW, according to Ms. Merujo, Thomas Dolby actually has a blog of his own. Now if THAT ain't proof of his coolness, I don't know what is.

Well, I've gotta go now, and make a flyer for church. Did I mention that I REALLY like my church? Yep...in spite of my off-color humor and general weirdness, I do have a spiritual side. The fact that they let me in the building means two things...they either like me or they have a weirdo quota to fill. Either way, they're stuck with me so they might as well make the best of it.

Smooches!
