Sudie's a happy girl...

WHY?

1. I went to Long John Silvers for the first time since leaving Iowa in 2001. I know it seems weird to go all nuts over a fast-food seafood place, but I just missed their shrimp and hushpuppies, etc. Oddly enough, the closest one to where I live is in Frederick (about 20 miles away or so). However, there is one in Falls Church, which I partook of last night. Oh joy, oh rapture...I enjoyed every single solitary stinkin' morsel, and gloated to my sister this morning in an e-mail, describing every crumb in exquisite detail. Ah, the cooking oil is coursing through my veins as I write this, and I LOVE it.

2. Today is payday!

3. I have a gig tomorrow night for the Laurel Lions' Club...every year they put on a "Senior" Prom (as in citizen) with a full buffet, appetizers, cash bar, dessert, and dancing. Swing Time Big Band is part of the entertainment. I think this is the fourth time I've done one of these dances, and they're fun every year. Getting paid and getting free food always helps. I'm not sure what I'm wearing yet, but isn't that always the case?

4. I found out that I'll be getting a car from my Grandpa DuVall's estate, courtesy of Mom, and I have a mission now. My grandfather was ultra-conservative, and I am going to put as many liberal bumper stickers on that car as humanly possible, and have a tryptich of Che Guevara, Karl Marx and the Grateful Dead skeleton painted on the lid of the trunk. I will call this beast "The Floydmobile". Anyone who wishes to contribute bumper stickers from any liberal cause, please let me know and I'll fill you in with mailing details. He would have hated it, which is why I'm doing it. Hey, everyone resolves issues in their own way...mine just happens to be with bumper stickers saying "Save Tibet" and "Make Love Not War".

Well, I'd better cut...bye...
