Third (?) time's a charm? From the "More Money than Taste" files and Yahoo! News...

(Sudiegirl's note...please understand that I am all for the Donald's happiness and stuff like that. However, it is his 3rd marriage, plus she's a year and 1/2 younger than ME! Only one word can truly express my feelings...EEEWWWWWWW! Between his bad rug and his propensity for bankruptcy, what's she thinkin'? My comments, as usual, in bold italic...)

Knauss Picks Dress for Marriage to Trump

NEW YORK - With no royals of our own, Americans look to celebrities and socialites to get their fix of fabulousness, which makes the wedding of Donald Trump and Melania Knauss a very big deal.
(Five'll get ya ten that the pre-nup is an even BIGGER deal...hope Melania has Marla Maples' phone number handy, just in case...)

Knauss will look like a princess in a Christian Dior gown that she chose in Paris during the haute couture shows with help from Vogue's top fashion editors, Sally Singer and Andre Leon Talley.
(You know, my mother made my wedding dress the first time around, and the 2nd time around, I wore something I bought at Sears for $65. Does the dress make you married?)

Knauss wears the voluminous strapless gown — which required 550 man hours just to do the embroidery — on the cover of the magazine's February issue and Singer chronicles the shopping trip over 14 pages inside.
(Voluminous...that's a daunting word. Will she have to have rehearsals for the dress itself? Pray for no strong winds...)

"Melania definitely got what she was looking for: a dress that would be absolutely special and a dress that could only be worn to one's wedding," Singer told The Associated Press Monday.

Knauss, like many brides-to-be, thought she wanted something a little more modern, but eventually realized she wanted a more theatrical dress that Cinderella would approve of, Singer explained.
(Note to Knauss...Cinderella...a FICTIONAL CHARACTER! )

"The dress also had to hold its own against the massive ballroom they've built at Mar-a-Lago (the Trump estate in Palm Beach, Fla., where the couple will be married Saturday)," she added, noting that the room is in the ornate Louis XIV style and the visual theme of the entire wedding is white, gold and diamonds.
(Is there a guillotine in the corner to scare off the rebels?)

Singer said she couldn't even begin to estimate the gown's price tag. "Some of these couture gowns, they are showpieces. No one really expects someone to order them. ... I'm sure it cost a lot."
(OK, if a designer creates something that they don't expect to sell, what's the point? I don't mean to be a smart-ass, but there had to have been a little bit of expectation. How else would Christian Dior be able to pay for 550 hours of embroidery?)

Knauss, 34, wasn't intimidated by the hunt for her wedding dress or the ceremony of haute couture. "Most women when they encounter fashion — whether it's in a magazine or in the mall or watching the Golden Globes — they compare it to what they can wear. Melania isn't like that, probably because she was born beautiful," said Singer.
(Thank you Ms. Singer...your check is at the front desk, now get out of here...)

Because of the sheer volume of the dress, Knauss decided to avoid putting flowers on the side of the runway because they might get knocked over, sit on a bench for dinner because a chair would not work and immediately change into a new outfit following the traditional first dance with her new husband.
(That's the first practical thing I've heard in this whole article!)

That dress is a sexy and sleek tulle number by Vera Wang.

Sudiegirl's final word?

Well, I hope Melania (sounds like a type of cancer) is happy with the Donald, and she brings along ample amounts of wig adhesive to the honeymoon.

Best wishes, y'all!
