Milestones

OK...my dad put this thought in my head. He let me know that in the "20 years ago today" column in the hometown newspaper, there was a little blurb that I (along with three other people) made Iowa All-State Choir. WOW. 20 years ago...where did the time go?

20 years ago, I got my first kiss, my first French kiss, my 2nd kiss, and many more kisses.

20 years ago, I figured out I really hated marching band, gym class, and a guy two grades ahead of me that never bathed. Unfortunately, the non-bather liked me...however, he got over it, married someone else, and eventually passed away due to complications from morbid obesity (and still didn't bathe).

20 years ago, I went to the theater multiple times to see "Ghostbusters", "Footloose", and "Sixteen Candles".

20 years ago, people were worried about Michael Jackson's hair catching on fire again, George Orwell's futuristic predictions, and whether George was a boy or a girl.

20 years ago, I was worried I would die a virgin. I think I can safely say that's not a problem anymore.

20 years ago, I was wearing preppy clothes, pinstriped jeans, Hawaiian shirts, baseball caps (around the house), Flashdance sweatshirts, Nikes, and horn-rimmed glasses.

How about you? What were you wearing/thinking/doing/hating/loving/saying 20 years ago?

Retrospectively,
Sudiegirl
